Adding 4x4 to his truck is technically what we're doing. We're going to be using literally everything off of his truck and just put it on the 4x4 frame. Right now I'm just trying to figure out the t-case issue. New torsion bars are ~$300 so that's not a big issue. The reason for wanting to cut...
Well, I dug into the parts truck this weekend and wasn't happy with what I found. The guy said it had the transfer case in it still, it doesn't.. somebody had cut the torsion bars in half the interior parts that I was planning on using we're not there.. but I'm still wanting to do this. New plan...
I say leave the under dash part and everything intact. Unpin the speaker wires and tape them up. Or if you're getting the harness I'm thinking of, splice into it and run a hot and ground to the under dash part. That should be all it needs to function the way you want. You'll need a wiring...

To add to this, never try to install a power steering pulley with a hammer;) also, be sure you get the pulley aligned properly when reinstalling (great way to eat through belts if not.)
So a friend of mine has a 96 C2500 with a 6.5 TD in it. He uses it to haul cars around for my other friends and I pretty regularly. One problem he's always had was getting the thing stuck in mud with a trailer behind it. I'd then have to pull him out with my blazer (which didn't even struggle to...
I say put some pods in the bumper lights. It'd be a lot easier than modifying a pair of headlamp brackets to fit the core support on the bottom. And for the blinker problem you could use an amber halo ring as the bumper light.
Something like this but just on the bumper lights and with Amber...
Fixed this a long time ago, but never got around to posting the fix. It was the three oil gallery plugs above the cam. Put them in and it ran no problem.

Well, my dad figured it out.. I think. When I replaced the engine in it I used the best parts of each engine. Apparently there were differences between the two oil pans, and I picked the wrong one to use. My dad said he tried to put RTV on the pan gasket to see if it'd seal better, but when he...
I guess I forgot to add that I put the sleeve on. It leaks like a siv. So that leads me to believe it's coming from the pan, not the rear main.

I should have primed the engine on the stand, but this is only the second time I've built an engine. The plugs were put in by the builder. My dad says he's certain that it's not leaking from there. I thought I saw a leak from there, but my dad said it was just from the oil on the flywheel...
