Frame rust removal and painting to do's and what not to do.

Those turned out nice. Good to have friends that can help out like that.

I would suggest BEFORE removal of the old braces to simply measure from the front (or rear) of the box floor and also from the edge(s). Draw out the dimensions on a sheet of paper then use the original measurements to lay out where the holes need to be. Heck IF you used heavier wall tubing you...

Frame rust removal and painting to do's and what not to do.

I'm no expert BUT, if it was me I would wait as long as possible for the paint to dry before undercoating. That way most if not all of the solvents will evaporate out of the paint. A rule of thumb I have used is 30 days. Probably overkill but I would rather wait then possibly have drying issues...

I think the dry time is 24 hours. You can recoat within 1 hour OR after 48 hours.

    1958 Bel-Air BARN FIND

You did the right thing (IMHO). I personally don't understand what prompts people to even THINK about cutting up a solid vehicle. It isn't like they are made any more.

WOW! I don't know if THIS forum allows it or has used it before but John Moore (and this is meant in kindness), YOU SUCK!! Very nice '58. Glad you saved it from being a donor.

Vortec 5.7 fuel trims positive, running rich, fuel pressure issue?

DOH!!! I KNEW that too. Don't know what I was thinkin' with the coolant temp suggestion. Thanks for the reminder.

Vortec 5.7 fuel trims positive, running rich, fuel pressure issue?

Yea, if the numbers are 'normal' I wouldn't even load a small round in the 'parts cannon' if it's not reading bad.

Vortec 5.7 fuel trims positive, running rich, fuel pressure issue?

IF the wiring was long enough you could simply unplug the sensors and swap the connectors to each other to see if the problem shows up on the opposite bank. Unfortunately I don't think there is enough 'slack to perform such a move.

That sounds like good numbers. Just threw the CTS out there because that's something not usually thought about.

Vortec 5.7 fuel trims positive, running rich, fuel pressure issue?

I may be WAAAYYYY off but, What is the coolant temp reading on the scan tool? I ran across 3 different GM vehicles in 2 days with no codes and running rich. ALL off them had the same reading of -40° on the scan tool. (Must be the 'default'). Changed the sensors on all 3 vehicles and no more...

    No start issue

Or possibly ignition module or coil. 1st do the 'snort test' then go from there would be (IMHO) THE way to go.

92, 4.3L ran fine until it didnt.

Yea, intermittent problems are a pain in the astrological forecast. You could just do a simple visual inspection to see if there are any "IFFY" spots in the harness. One good place to check, though a pain in the rump roast is right at the fuel pump connector. A friend of mine dropped the...

    No start issue

DON'T fire the parts cannon till you verify if it's ignition or fuel related. Simple shadetree method is to give the engine a snort of carb cleaner when it won't start. IF it starts then dies after the carb cleaner is burned up then I would say fuel issue. IF it don't then it's ignition...
