The Casey's i went to 2 towns over has it printed on their sign ethanol free and all the pumps except diesel say it too. They only have 1 pump with ethanol blend. Well didnt get any pinging but my mpgs went to ****. Filled at a Casey's with 87, from just under 1/4 tank. It was about 87 bucks. Normally i can get about 300 miles from full to a 1/4 tank over a 2 week period of just in town daily driving. Barley got 220 with the corn free gas. So i filled up...- Jiggie

Were from wyoming and i agree. I noticed a difference when i ran 85 vs 87 or 91 octane. But when we moved to the flat lands of ks i jusy kept running 91 except when gas shoots up yhen i go to 87. Fuel pump was bad. But also found the mass air flow sensor to be bad which the mechanic is 98% sure has been the power issue the entire time. But why it wasnt triggering the cel is still up fir debate. 1300 dollars later and we will have it back tomorrow. I opted for the dealership just because...- Jiggie

Wow that was a long but informative read. I will have to reread and google some things but if im understanding it right your saying that due to the refining methods and other factors the gas we buy if its e blend isnt that bad but that the non e blend would be better. Im hoping she just ran out of gas and that the stepper motor finaly gave in so the gauge was wrong. Id rather spend 250 on a gauge cluster than 900 on a new fuel pump. Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk- Jiggie

Thanks for all the help and thoughts. Guess we will find out soon as it gets out if the shop lol. Wife left the grocery store and it died and wouldnt start. I messed with it and it sounfs like the fuel pump is gone. Can barley hear but still kicks on.they are checking for fuel pressure first and...- Jiggie

Should i try ethonal free gas?
So am i doing more harm by running 91 octane thats a 10%corn blend than running the lower grade 5% blend?i was told regular 87 or 85 octane is for mowers and old cars that i should only run 91 or 93 octane especally in a v8 engine. Wondering if it would hurt anyting to try ethonal free gas in my 99 obs burb with a 5.7 vortec. It has 188k and found out that a local gas station has it instead of the 10% ethonal blend. Is there a big difference or will i notice anything like better mpgs? Not that mpgs matter in a burb lol...- Jiggie
