    Looks good, and I agree with your desire to not let excess light scatter into the sky. At our family farm back in Iowa, there are no lights which are on when they aren't needed. I love looking up into the night sky there. It's quite remarkable to be in such darkness.

    You've described a door that doesn't fit the frame properly when it's latched. Sure sounds like you've changed the shape of the door frames. I don't know how to fix that except to figure out where to cut it back apart, shift things around until the door fits properly, and weld it back up again...

    Even if you have to cut it up and splice in an extra bend or something, that looks to me like a fantastic plan. The cats are so close to the exhaust ports, you should easily be able to pass a sniffer test if you should have need of it one day.
