Thanks a lot yAll. I am gonna ride it out until it goes out again I guess and if it does I'll be buying a built transmission from a guy in Jacksonville that builds then for the tires and horsepower. But hopefully the 3.73's and the 14 bolt will drive that heat out and get me longer on the road!
Alright the 14 bolt is installed and runnin! But still on his keeping my foot pretty much the same on the gas when I hit a good hill the truck will drop a gear and pull in 3rd... I still have that worry it's burning my gear up. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is this usual? The 14 bolt...
Naw it came with that 700r4 in it. The tranny shop and mechanic asked me how that happened and I really have no clue but its not electronic its ran by the throttle cable and they all said its just a stock 700r4 tranny
Naw the 700r4 was rebuilt and just re- installed with no upgrades yet. The 14 bolt should be installed this weekend I'm picking it up Today with 3.73 gears in it. as well as the front end. My question is now should I keep my 315's rolling with the 14 bolt or go back down to a 285? Take the body...

So I found a nice 14 bolt heavy duty rear end with 3.73 on it the went on a 98 z71. AFter trans rebuilt would this stop me from blowing the transmissions or is there other measures I need to take to be able to run my 315's?
