Camper Top Combatability between GMT 400 vs 800?

And of course since y'all are in Houston, there's a 'Lac rollin' Swangers....gots a Conti kit too! Yes I worked in the 'hood for a few years, don't live too far from it now. Used to go through the edge of Third Ward and OST twice a week for work....

    Mr. Jangles 99 K3500 CCLB

It's probably one of the last codes on the sheet. It will have a U or L as the last digit, after two numbers. Example, 11U or 55U (the codes on my trucks). U is Upper color, or indicates solid color, as on mine, and L is the Lower color in a two tone.

The pewter looks gray or silver on overcast days, depending on available light. And it will almost disappear in a dimly lit parking lot. I compare it to the color carburetors are anodized; not quite silver or gold but some of both. It's funny, our family car when I was younger was a gold '70...

If you need lots of the same bulb, buy boxes from Rock Auto. They should be way cheaper. I've noticed that huge price for tiny bulbs at my parts stores and Walmart.

Yup.... Pewter Metallic=Light Autumnwood Metallic= Silversand, all are code 11 paint. Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac, in that order, names. What makes it even more confusing is in '97 Chevy had two names for the code 55 that my crew cab is: Rawhide Metallic (where the truck's name comes from) and...

    5.7 vs 6.0 swap towing

All the trucks we've towed with, except for the '06 Denali (6.0 AWD) were 5.7 powered. Mostly stock engines too. The '81 GMC Sierra was a 305 and we hauled 17 cars on a borrowed car hauler trailer over 4 days. Those cars included a 66 Riviera other fullsize cars. The '90 R2500 Burb hauled Uhaul...

    Obs parts n stuff

The belt assembly I'm offering is out of a crew cab with the later style interior. I have done research and the 400 crew cabs use the same belt front and rear. The rear seat belts in Rawhide are bound up from not being used much, and I am going to replace them when I find some good ones in tan...

Thinking GMT400 3500 Dually for Track Day Towing, Thoughts?

The last two yard trips I've made, IIRC there was a 7.4 equipped truck in each yard. I'll have to get some pictures if they are still there when I go again. The NE side yard has more space so they leave vehicles longer, but the one closest to me has 31 rows of trucks, all in one section. The NE...

Anyone recognize this Chevy transmission adapter?

GM used the HydraMatic trans and the Turboglide trans, both automatics, behind the 348/409 engines. These were stouter than the Powerglide they ran behind the small blocks and the straight sixes.

Thinking GMT400 3500 Dually for Track Day Towing, Thoughts?

The older generation 454 had the stamped steel valve covers on it, like the engine you pictured from this truck. All the 454/7.4 engines I've seen in the 400 trucks from the factory, have the cast aluminum valve covers, usually painted black with the tops of the fins machined off so they're...
