I have found that with the 1 pc rear main, Do Not put any kind of oil or anything on the journal, or the seal itself. The sealing surface has to be clean and dry where it rides on the crank journal. Have had 2 instances where we had to fix someone elses problem, and this was the issue both...
Finished my 411 swap a few days ago, many thanks to Jeff for answering all my questions. About to start sons Tahoe conversion then move back to my CCSB.
