Ideally a 77-79 Dana 44 driver drop. U can put those Chevy knuckles on the ford and it will work ok. I have a 77f250 d44 on my truck. I ran 8" leaves and used a sas kit. They are bolt on but then I welded for good measure once it was all on. I have 75 Dana 44 flat top knuckles but since I run...
Nj includes tire height in the 4". It's 4 for 1500 6 2500 and 8 for 3500. Not many cops know the lift laws in nj anyways. I only know because I have a lifted truck.
I put a nv4500 in my 95. Got rid of 4L60. I wanted the overdrive as I do highway and 456 with 38 boggers I'm at 1800 rpm at 65 on the highway. I'm sure I get a minor amount better fuel economy but my main focus was the engine not screaming at highway speeds.
I rhino lined mine and it looks ok but it only last so long and eventually will peal and come off. Unless u wheel it and need the protection I would not line it from my experience.
It's been a process for about 10 years. Next would be some rock sliders and then I think I'm ok.
It's a great truck for NJ. THX FOR THE WELCOMES. also if u need any advice or help pm me. Not too much aftermarket for us. The 88-98 is a great foundation.
