    there is a serial number on the side with a metal tag adhered...with that serial # we can tell you what it was when it left the facility. Your only issue is if someone changed things along the line.

    I have an 86 k10. Its an oddball that came from the factory with a 1 piece rear seal block, but perimeter bolt heads and a carb. Also has the large spline 700r4 (which allegedly didn't exist until 1987) So i'm with you guys in spirit...i'm just 2 years older.lol

    Its no secret they aren't GM's best flowing head, but they will support the 280 horse version with minor work. The 315...we use the new/different casting, which is a big improvement over stock. It's more an improved design vs any extensive work.
