    97 chevy rcsb sleeper

I took the factory cluster apart, gutted the needles and electronics, then traced the outline of the overlay onto 1/8' aluminum sheet. I drew on the gauge diameter I wanted then cut out. When that was done I just lay'd the aluminum in place of the original one, onto the factory plastic back half...

Under bed rear mount fuel tank 92 StepSide

Here's the tank I used on my 97 stepper. Late 80's, early 90's f150 rear fuel tank. They come in a few sizes...this one is the smaller version. You just have to change the fuel filler spout location.

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Made a few more small changes to the truck. I picked up some 275/70/17's for cheap and chucked them on. Then I installed a new pitman arm, and drivers side wheel bearing finally. Steering wheel was off center afterwards, so I evened out the tie rods to get it back. Going to do lower ball joints...

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Sounds like my wife, haha. No patio for this guy either...just the garage. Though it is cool when its spitting flames out of the headers, and people are driving by while I'm cooking on the driveway. I get some pretty weird looks from passersby. It doesn't matter what I'm cooking, its all flame...

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

I picked up a matching tail gate the other day, but the drivers door that was supposed to come with it was a no go. Finally the gold tail gate is history! Speaking of tail gating, I did the first bbq of the year, since we are having such kick ass weather. It only makes sense to a have a Chevy...

96 K1500 crank, but no start

Hey guys, My 97 k1500 has been acting up a little bit lately. Normally I don't post threads until I've done some digging into the situation, but I figured it couldn't hurt. The past couple weeks while your driving the truck, without warning the volts gauge would drop out quickly (sometimes...

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Thanks for the comments fellas. I should do a build thread on that thing...its fun to look at. I'm not sure its appropriate for here or not though, maybe in other builds?

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

A little bit has changed since the last post. I've been scavenging pick n pull a bunch, and scored some decent parts. So far I pickup up a good front bumper and lower spoiler, an early style Chevy grill that was in nice shape, euro tails, a good rear bumper, late style Chevy leather wrapped...

    Vortec carb swap?

This may or may not be helpful, but I built 97 rcsb carb vortec with an nv3500 (2wd though). The heater will work fine, as you will leave the red power wire on the pass through harness (pass side of the truck under the evap canister). Your t-case and trans wiring runs through there also. There...

I pulled the truck out to settle out the crank, and go for a quick spin. Front to back it sits perfectly level, so I may de-crank the front a smidge to tow. I decided to pull off the busted grill and ugly ass bumper to have a look at the headlights. Only the high beams were working...no running...

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Tossed in some 2" blocks, and cranked the t-bars last night. I think I decided to just keep and continue to fix Frank, and part the stepper. I think Frank will get the stepside box though. Its in way better shape. Need some 285's now!

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Speaking of score...or lack there of, I dragged the black step side home the other night. When my buddy first got in touch with me I was pretty stoked. I had fond memories of what the truck used to look like. Right away I thought to possibly part out Frank for his good bits, and do a 4" lift...

Thanks, lol. Ya it was a hell of a score, but Frank is still a bit of a pig with lipstick...Needs lots of fixin

Frank the Farm Truck 97 Sierra

Thanks guys. I got some much needed work done to Frank over the past couple weeks. I pulled off the drums on the 14 bolt to find not much shoe life left, and a bad axle seal leak on the pass side. I picked up some new shoes, had the drums turned, and swapped out the seals. I found out its got...
