I think I’m going to do a compression test to see how healthy the engine is. On a 4.3 with 145k, what should the numbers be in an ideal situation?

Update. So according to my dad the thing was totally submerged, so this truck is probably a write off. Sucks to see a good truck die, but I guess we can’t save them all.

I get that. I’ll pull the fuses and relays and see if there is any signs of corrosion. I’ve been working on vehicles for the better part of 25 years so I have a good idea of what to look at and for before I jump off the deep end. But, this will be my second attempt at something that’s been sunk...

I don’t know how deep the truck went. I’ve been told that the last guy changed the fluids and tried to get it running, that it would turn over but wouldn’t fire. That’s about the best I can give ya because that’s all I know. I do wish the guy hadn’t smacked the front with a tractor, but what can...

Last couple. Pretty sure the air filter housing is in the cab. Like I said, complete except for the rear glass. The tailgate is in the bed, but probably to beat to be used.

I didn’t, I just stopped by the parts store on a whim and bought the premium offering. I still might order the ac delco one just for kicks

Well I put a new 195 thermostat in today and now the gauge reads about where east302’s pic does up there. It’s an improvement but not by much. It did warm up faster so maybe it wasn’t a complete waste of $10.

I may pull the old one out and test it. I would like to get this taken care of before it gets butt numb cold here. Another question, any way to change the cluster bulbs out? Looks like the new one has a bulb out, and by looking at my old one it looks like the bulbs just twist and pull out. But I...

97 Cheyenne arm rest

I may have to go that route eventually. The one that I found still isn’t in great shape, the plastic that holds the shape underneath is cracked up pretty bad.
