Then don't drink any water and straight to bed.

    sending unit not really accurate

Ok, good to know we're all dealing with same issue. It's kind of funny because after fill up, if I baby it, the gauge doesn't move for almost 100kms. It's a magical fuel efficient wonder-truck that burns no fuel for 100km! Something at GM was out of whack when they designed that.

    sending unit not really accurate

Has anyone ever noticed their fuel gauge takes alot longer to go from full to 3/4 compared to 1/4 to Empty? I can get almost 200kms in first quarter tank, 150 in second quarter, 75 in third quarter and like 50 in last quarter. Seems odd. Not sure if I bought a *****/wrong sending unit or what.

    Parking Brake Cable Lengths *Updated*

Thank you for this. So sick of buying the wrong cable lengths.

    Ride quality

I replaced everything in my front end: Bushings, sway bar, sway bar bushings, tie-rod ends, shocks (bilsteins) and i actually think it rides just as bad if not slightly worse. HUGELY disappointing. I set my "Z-Height" as instructed by the Factory service manual for 6.180" and torqued everything...

    Cruise Control Issue

Don't ever snap the plastic parts on the cruise cable ....GM doesn't make them anymore and they are very difficult to find (for 89-93 anyways). Everyone in the junkyard i went to had theirs removed by other people who broke theirs too probably.

1991 GMC 350 TBI Engine stumbles and dies at idle after warm up

Update again: Even after the ignition coil was replaced, I noticed the odd miss here and there. I finally said f*ck it and bought new Delco platinum plugs for it. Upon removing the old plugs (that my former mechanic had installed) I checked their gap and was embarrassed to find that he did not...

    Sputtering

When I first had this happening it turned out to be my spark plug wires ($90). You couldn't see it in the daylight but at night it had cracks in the insulation and was arcing when a load was put on it (E-brake on, put in gear with A/C compressor on). The other time I had this happen, it turned...

1991 GMC 350 TBI Engine stumbles and dies at idle after warm up

Just an update....truck is running perfect. Absolutely no stumble or miss. Over a year long problem finally fixed. Thought an ignition coil either worked or didn't, learned it can give you some false flags leading you to think it's other issues.

1991 GMC 350 TBI Engine stumbles and dies at idle after warm up

Recently my truck was running very strangely. After all the work done to correct the stumbles and misses, it started to misfire bad when a quick load was put on it and then a couple weeks later it lost all power and misfired terribly...actually back-fired a couple times (back-fired....not...

engine oil cooler hose line problem

Just an update to this: I actually ended up putting in the fittings I mentioned before. The end product is fantastic but man.....was it a **** ton of work. took me 6hrs. I put in Parker fittings instead....1/2" to 3/8NPT and then tubed the lines in 316 annealed stainless tubing. -Had to remove...

1991 GMC 350 TBI Engine stumbles and dies at idle after warm up

Hahaha nono...all those things that were replaced were done one-at-a-time and then ran for a bit to see if it worked. Didn't do all that stuff at once. Engine still stutters at idle to this day. Did notice better fuel mileage though.

    Snapped Exsaust manifold bolt

I had a broke stud past flush with the surface. I center punched it, drilled it and then hammed a Torx bit in it. You have to drill the hole so the torx bit barely fits so there is as much grip as possible when you hammer the torx bit in there. Don't use too large of a torx bit or it will dilate...

    Revitalizing my AC system

I did this with my truck, new compressor, hoses, dryer.....and then, a year later, the evaporator developed a bad leak and now I have to remove my whole dashboard to get to it. sucks.

1991 GMC 350 TBI Engine stumbles and dies at idle after warm up

I have a very similar problem. But still haven't found the cause. My mechanic did the following and the stumble at idle still has not gone away. -changed coolant temperature sensor, and verified proper resistance, good. -changed fuel filter. -checked fuel pressure, good (12psi). -Rebuilt TBI...
