Jealous nice truck!!!
I'm kind of in the same boat as OP. My 97 has some pretty bad faded lights but the bulbs are also basic 9 dollar bulbs and god knows how old. I can leave my brights on and never get flashed at.
Gonna do the 4 hi mod with some new phillips nightguide bulbs and gonna try...
If it eats up one more I'm gonna start hunting that down.
I was gonna order some new headlights for christmas but I'm gonna wait. I can't decide if I want clear or black housing. One day....one day I'm gonna repaint the truck.
I did order new phillip bulbs. It has the basic 9 dollar hallogeens...
Just and update. So haven't do a whole lot. Added a Magnaflow offbrand oriellys muffer...doesn't sound bad actually.
New Ignition coil and changed fuel filter. Burnt up another distributor cap.
Well I figured even my cheap scanner would throw the appropriate code. Before when I had a crappy poppet I had a p0302 code and then a p0304. I figure it would be cylinder specific code.
I really need to find a good scanner to view enough live data to help diagnose things. One that won't break...
ATTENTION EVERYONE....I AM A IDIOT lol.
I'm glad my mechanic is a friend. He called me and goes well your a DA and laughed.
When I put the new cap on, I crossed a wire...old cap was actually the issue...and I fixed it but also unfixed it at the same time.
He said it's running like a champ...
The lower and upper intake gaskets were done just last summer.
This issue gave no notice either it just started happening all of a sudden when from very smooth to rough very quick.
I have to ask is there anything special you have to do if you change the crank sesnor and just the crank...
I really need to invest in some proper diagnostic tools and a better scanner. I took the truck back to my mechanic to see what he sais just because I do need it this weekend if possible. I need new lights in the shop and tools and right now I have 0 time during the week.
On the 5 minute drove...
I didnt know you had to do a reset after just doing a cap, button and wires. Those have been on for over a year with no issies truck jusy isnt driven much
Last time i had a p0302 cylinder 2 code. I figure it wpuld throw that code fir each cylinder.
After puttin on the new cap last time i didnt do anything like that just new cap, buttin and wires.
