Difficult question about my 4L60E, totally stumped!

Honestly I was thinking that too. But now with everything else being fine, would corroded plugs account for no 2nd gear? If I stay in drive, it will engage if you feather it out of 1st but not pull at all. I have to take first to about 4,500 then let it into 3rd.

need help engine id

If it's any comparison to you, I have a well abused 314k mile 350 that still runs like a top.

Difficult question about my 4L60E, totally stumped!

Alright guys, got an important update. Trans is now perfect, EXCEPT there is no longer a second gear. No manual second, just gone. But, no more slipping in 1, 3, or OD and the TC locks up and stays locked in now. I'm done with automatics.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have many pictures of it for the time being, but here are the ones I do have. Here it is after I blacked out the hood (clearcoat peeled, looked ugly), and I went ahead and did the grille and lights too. Looked pretty good when I first did it, now it's faded bad...

Difficult question about my 4L60E, totally stumped!

That's how I checked it, running in park, hot, after driving. Radiator shows no signs of transmission fluid. I just got back driving it home from work, noticed if I go easy on it, it shifts like it normally would. Moderate throttle, slips while shifting, very soft shifts. Anything above 1/2...
