Brief update on this, I picked up the laser cut pieces last week. I'm hoping to get some time in the next week or two to weld it up. I will post some pictures and let you know how it works out.
Would it have been easier to use the entire LS harness and splice in only the necessary wires for the truck? The computers are in relatively the same spot. No re-pinning, etc. etc.
When I did mine, I used the harness that came with the motor. I don't see any reason why you couldn't do it the way your thinking as long as the PIN's on the ECM connector are correct and you have all the necessary sensors.
How does it look? Have you checked the fluid level in it? I did mine for a number of reasons. On top of the noise, every seal was leaking on the thing.
If it only occurs in 4wd, it might be your front driveshaft. Not sure how many miles are on your truck, but my K1500 Blazer's front diff needed rebuilt after 230k. Similar noise before the rebuild.
Following up on this, the problem turned out to be the positive battery cable. It was chaffed and arcing on the block by the starter. I suppose this was interrupting the ground circuit which was showing through the speedometer. New positive cable fixed the problem.
Hi there, ironically enough I'm actually working on developing one with hoops to clearance true duals and long tubes. How soon are you looking for something?
