I used an old housekeeping cart from a hotel. I found it cheap at a pawn shop, cleaned it up, put some better (8") casters on it and loaded it with jackstands etc. Worked great but I didn't use it often enough to warrant the space it took up so I sold it last summer.
Agreed! I've used AAA to get a K5 from my house to the transmission shop when I decided it was too cold and I was too old to be bench pressing a transfer case. I also used them to get a new purchase home!

Sounds kinda like what I was experiencing with my 88. A bad temp sensor was the culprit. It was a quick $20 fix and the truck never took more than a second or two to start again.

I actually looked at some PYOs and some of the older rally style steelies with rings. None had big enough tires or were in nice enough shape/cheap enough to buy and ditch the tires.
