Then if thats the case, is it cheaper to build a 383? I want to make 400-500hp for sure but dont know what the best way to go is. I do not want to LS swap, I'm tired of seeing them.
Ill be honest, I just really like the valve covers on the OBS 454s lol. I can find a 454 all day long, I just want one that I can make 450hp+ with reliably. I will do a carb swap on my existing 350 to get the wiring already taken care of.
I don’t want to do a 383 simply because I don’t have the skills to build a motor nor money. Plus 383 builds are so common compared to 454, I’ve never personally seen a 454 swapped RCSB
I'm getting bored of the ole TBI 350 and looking into swapping. How plug and play is a TBI 454 to swap in? I also have a NV3500 trans which I dont expect to last but a few years. At first I will drop the motor in bone stock and work out any issues until it works as if it was meant to be. THEN...
You were the one that actually inspired me to do it! I still have the email of how you did yours, the only difference is you welded the part where I added the steel plate
Nothing is stopping you! other than the cost of finding one of these bumpers. And fabricating it to fit. And the $30 a pop license plate light sockets. It's not a beginner install, but I listed everything I did for anyone else who wants to!
I couldnt tell you exact dimensions, but it is in fact taller. I prefer it because it hides the spare tire, axle, etc. It also gives the illusion that the truck is even lower
