My father-in-law loves Mezcal. He always has that or Tequila on hand. Myself, being older now, not that much into hard liquor as it is more difficult for me to moderate and much more difficult to recuperate from a hangover. He, on the other hand, having twenty years on me, I suppose, has the liver of a god.
I do love some wine, as well. Pinot Noir is something special. Last one I tried from Total Wine was, I believe, Ropiteau Pinot Noir Reserve from Burgundy. Superb.
By the way, problem with wine is that you usually need to finish a bottle within a couple of days of opening, otherwise it goes bad from the oxidation. I bought something and I highly recommend it, in the event that you want some wine, but don't have the desire or people on hand to finish the entire bottle. It's called the
Coravin wine saver. It works, and works well. Since I bought it, there's probably been several revisions and other newer models, so you'd have to look around for whichever one best suits your needs and budget, if you are interested.
P.S. There's this beer my neighbor let me try. He got some from Mexico. It's called Barrilito. I thought it was pretty good.
