Looking at new tires for my 99 K2500 Suburban. I have H2 Wheels, and have been running a 285/70R17. I need new tires, currently have BFG K02's I have only put about 2000 miles on the truck, I bought the wheels/tires used. I bought them mostly for the wheels, but the added benefit was that they got me through a year.
Tires are currently very low on tread, as well as weather checked pretty bad, with uneven wear(from whatever vehicle they came off).
So now shopping for new tires, I'm looking at wither the BFG KO2($1287) or Falken Wildpeak AT/3W ($1132). Prices are before tax and installation. These are both load range E tires.
Primary use is going to be commuting, and off-road, overlanding, hunting etc. I will tow occasionally, but overall I don't plan to hit any severe trails, but I do enjoy having fun off-road.
From what I can see the pro's for the Wildpeak over the BFG are: price, tread depth, warranty(55k vs 50k).
Any personal experience/ input is welcome.
