    Radiator shroud hardware?

Ok, so I'm just getting back to this. xXxPARAGONxXx's link isn't valid anymore, but I found something similar or the same. The washers are a bit larger than factory. I think the originals were about 20mm, and these are 24mm. Normally what I find is only 17mm, and I didn't want to go smaller...

    Favorite beer

Zevia has two root beers, regular, and a Ginger Root Beer. I really like the Ginger. I've also tried Black Cherry, and I should have known better.... it's horrid. I like cherries, but in general, I don't like cherry flavored things. Stevia is just from Stevia. It's a leafy plant. I don't...

My "new" 1996 Mercedes Benz C220

Wow, Mercedes sure does make it complicated. Engine oil it looks like they basically say to go by the temperature chart. ATF.... I have no idea by their info. I think I can run Dex3 from something I've read elsewhere, but haven't verified it yet.

    Favorite beer

Somewhere in this thread, I believe I previously claimed Jamaican Red Stripe as my favorite. It's not so widely available around here, so I don't get it often. A few weeks/monthes ago I bought a six pack and found it to be just ho-hum. I've more recently been drinking Corona with lime added...

Fuel Prime Issue Causing Ridiculous Hard Starting

My truck had hard starting for years, and I always assumed it was the injectors. I just lived with it, since I didn't have the money and time for that. Eventually, the pump started having obvious pump issues (not running until I whacked the tank). This was a dealer replacement pump, not the...

My "new" 1996 Mercedes Benz C220

Mostly, just to clean it up and do whatever maintenance it needs. I've been driving it a bit around town, but it needs tires before I drive it to work. I've got a few parts here already, and more on the way. I just ordered a trim piece for the front bumper, last night, through ebay. It...

    Das Weiner Schnitzel

I'm adding those to my Volvo. I have yet to do the wiring however. It seems the aftermarket connectors I bought aren't the best. I'm contemplating other options. Does it require premium? I don't get any better than your mileage at 75/80.

    Tensioner and idler recomendations.

Sometimes the source is GM, but usually not. GM still makes a few things. Richard has mentioned Gates being the OEM for the tensioner. I'm not sure what his source was, maybe just observation? From what I've seen, I'd have to agree. I do have a Gates pulley on my original tensioner, and I...

No idea, but I'd guess that center link design isn't too common.

    Steering knuckle

I suppose you could change the u-joints, but they're not really in the area. Do you mean ball joints? I didn't pull the knuckle off the last time I did my hubs/rotors, but it wouldn't be too much further.

    Steering knuckle

Just clean any crap from on and around the bolts and make sure your socket is fully seated before unscrewing them. The hub could still be stuck, or it could come out easily. Last time I did it, the passenger side didn't want to move and the driver's side basically fell out. Maybe watch a few...

    5.7 slow crank?

If you're still running a side post battery, you can't just look at the connection. It has to be disassembled, and the hoods pulled back. You could have a leak with acid traveling down the wire under the insulation. Factory style side post connections hide the corrosion. I had to replace my...

My "new" 1996 Mercedes Benz C220

Drove it for the first time in a couple of days. I got a new air filter element in place. It's a flat rectangular filter, unlike the cylinders our trucks use. Weirdly, the new filter has a stepped design. The old one I pulled out was the same thickness the whole way though. All the new ones...

    98 Vortec 5.7 MAF needed

How could it be more accurate and still work with the same PCM? It's an LS MAF, but with a short conversion harness, correct? I do see that it has 3 elements in it, plus the un-used temp sensor.

Interesting, I never would have guessed that. I wonder if my truck had them originally and the body shop left them off.

    '88 RCLB C3500 "Roscoe P. Coltrane"

Your what? I'm confused. Why does a bumper bracket need a gasket? I know for certain I don't have gasket on the rear bumper, but I wasn't the first to replace it either.... a body shop did it when a semi rear-ended me on an ice covered I-94. They also did the front, but I have never had it...

My "new" 1996 Mercedes Benz C220

So I bought a 76K mile Mercedes. I know nothing of MB, but am quickly learning. It's a W202 platform, and is the first of the C class that replaces the old 190 that MB did so well with. I got it at auction like I did my Volvos. I think this is a donated car, like many of the nicer cars I...

    Redneck DoD

You mentioned running oversize tires..... don't. You get the gearing benefit, but you're taking a hit on weight, and aerodynamics. It's well known that bigger tires equates to lower mpgs.
