    Headliner

Trim panel for the area above the rear window on the extended cab is very different so it may be possible the headliner board shape isn't quite right for fitting a regular cab or crew cab. Regular and crew cab share a shallower trim panel. Richard

Best 8 inch wheel trim rings

No idea on the part #. You're talking seriously obsolete parts by now anyway, the only market I'm aware of would be the used market. Hit up a boneyard, FB marketplace, craigslist.. again, in this particular style there's only one choice in 15", and one in 16". They look the same other than...

    Power window nose diving

There's a couple 10mm-head bolts that hold the front window channel in. It's real easy to forget the bolts when re-assembling, and it will cause the window to fall forward. I've also seen it mangle the window regulator scissor assembly if it doesn't get corrected. Richard

    VIN Decoder

I mean.. GM did make 'em.. Half a life ago (or longer actually) I rented a house that had an old Frigidaire in it. Still worked great, other than it was pre-"frost free" era so you had to mine the ice out of the freezer every now and then. Cool old emblems those fridiges had. Many variations...

    1992 Factory CD Player

Pretty cool options! I've seen a lot of these trucks and have never seen this setup in any of them. Closest I've had in "old school" changers was when I bought my '92 in.. '99? It had a Sony 6 disc changer under the driver's seat. It was old and full of dog hair, but once cleaned up, it...

1994 C1500 4L60E no shift and no speedo

The tricky thing about reconfiguring the two bank DRAC is the settings are inverse of each other, if that makes sense. Take a look at the one I pictured with the case open - and imagine the jumper postions like this: 7654321 1234567 So in the example pic, FIRST bank - 7,6,5,4,3 are "on" and...

1994 C1500 4L60E no shift and no speedo

Haven't looked that deeply into it but that one wire might be for other (non-GMT400) applications; my 1994 had cruise and so did the 1994 I have the spare dash from sitting in my garage (the one I just took the pic of the DRAC from a few minutes ago) - no second single-wire connector in that...

Best 8 inch wheel trim rings

Those are the regular trim rings that came on the 15" GMT400 steel wheels. They only made two sizes - 15" and 16" - and only one width. Richard

1994 C1500 4L60E no shift and no speedo

A 1994 GMT400 doesn't use that other connector. I just looked through a bunch of pics from my (now sold) 1994 and it's a little hard to tell from most of the angles, but I don't see it - in this pic I'd cut a small hole in the glovebox compartment and poked the wires through so I can have the...

    VIN Decoder

Of all the parts trucks I tried to pull VIN reports for, the early years were always the ones that were likely to have no results at all - but I was surprised that a '97 Tahoe didn't come back. I was able to get the service inquiry that had practically nothing on it except the rotors getting...

1994 C1500 4L60E no shift and no speedo

Just to set your mind at ease on that behavior - it's normal. Plugging the bypass wire back in will advance roughly around 12° which will be off the tab. I know you said you checked the fuses and it does sound like you've been pretty thorough, but did you actually pull the associated fuses and...

    Lug nut/wheel identify

If the lug hole is 15mm that's a pretty good indicator those are meant for 14mm studs, which is what your truck has. All the GMT400 trucks whether 2WD or 4WD, 1500, 2500, and 3500 (with exception of the GMT455 3500HD) have 14mm studs. I'll second RoadTrip's advice of taking it by a tire/wheel...

    Lug nut/wheel identify

I don't think those are Alcoas - most of the ones I've seen are forged wheels; the ones you have there appear to be cast. There were several brands offered in that style. The wheel has as much to do with lug nut choice as the wheel stud does. The stud size and threads matter, yes, and the...

    Paycheck again at 71?

Good thing they marked the drain plug on the transfer case, so that the Ford mechanics wouldn't mistake the plug at the very bottom of the case.. for something else, like maybe the fill plug. :anitoof: Richard

    97' Silverado 5.7 ext.cab rwd MAP SENSOR

An UN-LIT propane torch - skinny bottle with the angled nozzle - is great for checking for vacuum leaks. A bit easier to control than spraying liquids around, IMO. And absolutely, spraying the "good" brake cleaner - the chlorinated solvent type - you burn that stuff and you get phosgene gas...

    Control arm

I don't disagree with you on the poly bushings, but just an FYI OP's C1500 will have stamped arms, upper and lower. You don't get forged anything on a 2WD until you get to an 8 lug 2500 and those come with forged uppers. The Moog replacement stuff I got for my '93 C3500 looks just like OEM -...

    daytime headlights

The good news is, if the DRL indicator on the cluster bothers you, on a GMT400 it's cake to just pull the cluster and remove that one bulb. (On a GMT800 they're LED's soldered to the circuit board and the cluster is kind of a pain to crack open anyway.) I don't know about a 2000 model GMT800...

    Nv4500 swap

No reason to worry about switching cabs. If you're doing automatic to manual conversions, no firewall hole there for the clutch master already - the 92-95 NV4500 using the clutch master style that you can easily make the holes for without worry of the stepped design 96-up use. As I said before...

    daytime headlights

I did that for a while in my '96 C3500 wrecker, until one night it started buzzing and arcing from just barely breaking the switch contact. Not a major thing but annoying and not good for the switch to leave it like that for any amount of time. More work for sure, it's a little tricky to get...

    Control arm

Right off the bat I'd skip every "economy" choice on Rock. Go straight to "daily driver" category (that's the only other one they list; there's no "premium" or "heavy duty" etc.) that narrows your choices down. I've heard the griping about Moog quality lately as well, but that's what I...

    New tools!

Saw some ads for Milton on FB and it kinda spurred me into action to buy a digital inflator gauge. Been wanting one for a while, but my old school Milton "bubble window" inflator gauge has been serving me for over 20 years. However, Milton's ad probably didn't work as intended. The ad claimed...

    Nv4500 swap

The truck doesn't know what year model transmission you have, if that's what you mean - there's no computer control of the manual transmission like the automatics have, where it's important to get a compatible year. Does your 1995 NV4500 still have the separatel slave cylinder w/fork style...
