    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

I agree it it weird, I'm curious to think maybe if there was an intermittent short or something of the like against the manifold that caused a wonky fuel ratio thus the cat code...things that make you go hmmmm.

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

Reporting back. I found the bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor connector simply laying on the manifold flange where I'd connects to the head pipe melting away. Thankfully it was the sensor side of the plug and the truck side seems ok. Naturally I replaced it and my troubles so far have seem to gone away...

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

Interesting the cap can fail in such a way. I see what you're getting at those pathways pass extremely close to one another in spots. A crossfire would be easy to happen under these caps. Good tips thank you, I'll definitely report back

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

Thank you for the schematic sorry no the code reader is not live data capable. It is indeed the cat code bank 2 p0430. I certainly can chase back the circuit and report back

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

I may have transposed a digit. The code description is catalyst below efficacy threshold. They way its behaving leads me to think it's a symptom rather than a bad cat. Given the back fires and hard starts my thought was possibly rich condition or egr malfunction the o2 sensors (all4) are a year...

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

Hi. Thanks for your response I may have transposed a number but the description is catalyst below efficiency threshold bank 2. It's the only code and has been the whole time. First intermittent and now steady. What I'm hoping to achieve is the answer to this question...is the cat bad or is it a...

    Interesting set of symptoms...thoughts?

Hey all, 98 c1500 5.7 ex cab short box 2wd This is one of those "the other day it started" stories with a p0403, the mil lamp would come on, go out, come on, go out now it's on steady. During the time of light coming on and turning off (which lasted about a week) at times the truck would start...

Yes I did of both the 400 and 800. I mounted this one the way it is done on the 800.

My version of rear sway bar, whatcha think?

Here is this weekends finished result. I know I got paint on my shocks was kind of hurrying towards the end...I beat the snow! Sway bar came from 03 avalanche and the links. Axle mounts were cut off 98 tahoe, the rest was custom built. Took me a few days but it's done and it's on rails compared...

Bump stop gap on the rear

Picked up a 2000 z71 obs tahoe knowingly with broken leafs (2 of the four, first below the main and the one below that with the clamps). I'm pretty sure it happened due to hyper flexing as the bump stops are absent. The cheapest replacements I can find are Dorman ones on Amazon for 39 dollars...

Has anyone thought of custom machining a brake mouting flange?

I would weld it, and you wouldn't cut the tube...you'd simply cut the welds off the existing bracket and remove.

Has anyone thought of custom machining a brake mouting flange?

The problem truly lies with us 2 wheel guys, an appropriate rear end is hard to find I looked into it a while back the closest one was in PA from a 2wd suburban. I'm in nh and the axle was 500. The price of the axle and an 8 host one way drive... For me it's so worth the extra work. Also rear...

Has anyone thought of custom machining a brake mouting flange?

Exactly! Make a custom flange that has the 11" bolt pattern with the c/k truck tube diameter and like you said cut and weld to the needed measurements to accommodate the wider 11" pads, simple math or measure an existing set up say from a hoe or burba all we need is a machinist to make them, I'm...

Has anyone thought of custom machining a brake mouting flange?

So I'm gonna reopen the dismal subject of the dreaded 10" brakes...with a fresh spin...h Get it brakes....spin...sorry. I know the 10 and 11" brakes are different in many ways including the mounting flange. I know it's been discussed that suv (possible 11" donor) is a different diameter tube...
