    1988 GMC C1500 - Z06 Package!

Vette Villains is a Corvette only junkyard. You know what, I have a C5 underhood insulator thingy if you want it. Has the vette logo on it. I think that's the last of my C5 parts left.

Out of ideas - suggestions needed

I had something very similar happen with my LS swap. It would not run with the MAF enabled, ran fine without it. Unfortunately, I don't think my fix will help you as I swapped the coil packs around and it suddenly worked. It might be an issue with the wiring or grounds. I think that was my...

LC9 swap from donor truck - do it?

Crawling is going to be more about gearing than torque. Plenty of 4 and 6 cylinder crawlers out there.

    Welp, got a doner.

I understand. The SBC just really wants to go without a lot of encouragement. My problem with it is after that.

Those are so rare I forgot about them. LOL. There was a Yukon GT too.

+1 on the drag wheel questions. 5x5 drag wheels are not common apparently.

Would anything besides the 454SS even be considered collectable? They made millions of everything else as far as I know, except maybe the 2 door blazehoes/jimkons.

    Welp, got a doner.

There might be a small difference from the firing order, but you could correct that too. The SBC torque difference is, in my opinion, due to the reduced flow leading to an increase the velocity. The more you open them up the closer you get to an LS torque curve, which everyone here seems to hate.

    Welp, got a doner.

I have a theory that the engineers originally planned to use a higher displacement LS vs the Gen I counterpart. The 4.8 was to replace the 4.3, the 5.3 was to replace the 5.0 and the 6.0 was to replace the 5.7. (8.1 already replaced the 7.4.) But then the bean counters got involved and they...

Couple little things left and then I think it's ready for a test and tune at the nearest strip, which seems like a good place to get some video. My internal accelerometer says low 14s maybe high 13s. So, it will probably run 15s. LOL.

Man, I drove it in the rain this morning and it's a hoot. No traction whatsoever, fishtails all over the place. It's very controllable though, might lead to overconfidence. It never had good traction in the rain before, but the open diff didn't throw the back end around.

LC9 swap from donor truck - do it?

Ah, well the LC9 is also a pistol. LOL. Yes it does, 5.3s are about half the price of a 6.0. Still a low mileage engine though.

LC9 swap from donor truck - do it?

LC9 is a 9mm pistol. LQ9 is a 6.0L LS engine. There's always stuff that is going to nickel and dime you, but it's a decent upgrade and less mileage IMO. A good running 6.0 by itself but with all the accessories and such can easily fetch $1000 around here.

    Arteb Headlights / Taillights End-of-Life (?)

I know my issues pale in comparison to what's going on in Brazil, but the JB welded headlight is holding up. These lenses are the best update you can make to these trucks. You can see so much better at night, even with crappy halogen bulbs.

We put the 6 degree shim in and stacked 6 washers under the transmission mount. It really needs about 4 more but I didn't have a long enough bolt. I need to see if someone makes a taller mount, that would be less redneck. I would say it's about 90% better. There's still a slight vibration but...
