    Skid plates for 2wd

Habit. Like "Emergency brake" The cable operated far left pedal will NEVER stop the vehicle in an emergency. I would've called it an "air dam" but that would be confused for the plastic valence panel directly under the bumper... That's exactly what it  is designed for. There on the 4x4s...

    89 Chevy K2500 with a 74 Chevy 350 engine

Yes. The exhaust ports in the head, bolt spread, and temp sensor location are identical to the TBI head. On a side note, the Vortec heads also will bolt up but the EGR will be NF. Now then, be attentive to the O2 sensor location. The long tube headers I bought used a bung in #1 cyl only...

    89 Chevy K2500 with a 74 Chevy 350 engine

Thank you for identifying your vehicle. Not many newbs do that... Another plus on your side! Yup, because that's the wrong body style. The Square body routes the exhaust under the driver side, not the passenger like our 400s. That's the best idea, using ones designed for your actual...

    Worst OBS mods

I've got a lifted 2wd and a lowered 4x4 (converted it to AWD actually) and a stock height 4x4 SUV plow truck. As to the lowered one, Whipple supercharger, 5 speed, stepside. I've got a matching stepside bed trailer (future Hot Rod Power Tour long haul gang). Here's my point: OE 4x4 stickers on...

    Grounded alternator, now no start

Glad you got it fixed. Mobile devices are limited, your photo is cropped so tiny that there's no visable writing. Just include it in every post anyway. Consider this: I have 4 OBS trucks. If I post a question, you have a maximum of a 25% chance of connecting it to the problematic vehicle.

    Door card insert Material change

Of the 5 OBS trucks I've had, the 4 of them that needed outer door handle replacement, all have had a 1 piece plastic inner panel with a plastic vapor barrier. I'm not even sure what a door card is, care to elaborate?

    1997 2-Door - aftermarket rear sway bar

My 4 door Yukon's OE rear bar swept upward. The previous owner installed it upside down for some reason? It's there for reason, what's stopping you from flipping it over the right way? The cost of new sway links? If you do decide to remove it, kindly PM me and I'll take it off your hands in a...

    93 5.7 cat delete o2 sensor light

The non fouler is for downstream sensors, not the single upstream in a TBI. O.P. has a '93 OBD1 vehicle... (per title and post #1) The use of the non fouler is to sample less of the gasses. And the upstream O2 needs as much flow as possible. If you extract the sensor from the uncatalyzed...

    93 5.7 cat delete o2 sensor light

You're wrong. The Upstream O2 sensor has no idea that the catalyst is present or functional. You need to correctly diagnose the code instead of loading up the parts cannon.

Front wheels track wider than rear?

I've got a set of 1.5" hub centric spacers if you're interested. They cost me $81 new, I've never used them. (went with a pair of 2" on my 2500) $70 plus shipping and they're yours.

What is the proper way to engage 4x4?

The vehicle uses Shift On The Fly engagement. The transfer case gets engaged, spinning the front driveshaft. Then two halves of the front diff get connected by the actuator. Coming to a stop, stopping, "put(ting) the truck in neutral, push 4 hi, put it in gear and roll forward a bit but the 4x4...

    Remote locks on an 89?

When I bought my Yukon it had power locks and the OE key fobs were long gone missing. I had a remote starter installed and the installer hooked it up to the doors. There's a harness under the dash he tapped into. It was as simple as following a wiring schematic.

Turn signal/Hazard Issue. Help greatly appreciated!

Are you referring to the indicators? Like you press the brake pedal and power backfeeds to the instrument cluster, illuminating the green indicators on your dash? Or are you saying pressing the brakes lights up the front turn signal bulbs? Either of those would indicate a bad ground. That...

Turn signal/Hazard Issue. Help greatly appreciated!

Can you elaborate on this? How would the hazard lights flash if the switch is off? Are you saying that the brake lights flash when you depress the brake pedal? If you do activate the hazards, they operate the same bulb filiment as the brakes and will stop flashing when you step on the brake.

This is ODD (305 Vortec issue)

Vortec distributors are not the distributors of old. The lower half is just a Cam position sensor. There is no ignition advance mechanism. The advance is applied electronically by the PCM. If the "timing" is out, you would get a cam-crank sensor correlation error code. You've got other...
