TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

Hmm. I was under the assumption the only fuel upgrade was the pump with TBI to L31 conversion. I'm not too sure what I missed there... I've heard about the same with the transmission conversion. I'm lucky enough to have the entire donor on hand.

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

The TBI in the Yukon seems strong, just a heavy smoker at temp. The 98 L31 is a goodwrench shortblock that had zero issues. I'm curious why you would TBI a Vortec? Seems quite a bit more involved. I'm also curious if you know of any driveline length issues with the 3500/4500 swap.

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

I'm doubting the sender could be too crusty. Truck runs fine for the few miles I've put on it. It's lived in a dry climate it's whole life, which doesn't say much for the gas that's been dumped in it. With 350K on it, I'm leery. I have very limited history with this rig, but it does appear...

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

I've searched this forum to try and find this answer without much luck, so I'll ask on this thread since it's related. Fuel pump. Instead of swapping pumps, I'd like to go new, with ideally a new sending unit. I haven't touched the 93 Yukon yet so it still has the TBI pump...or so I'd assume...

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

The donor 98 was my sons. His pride and joy. He got hit hard enough to spin that beast 90+ degrees. Obliterated the other vehicle...which for some reason and regard was rebuilt. Everyone was still vertical and nobody went to the hospital. I almost sent GM a thank-you card. The truck is...

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

Alrighty then. Things are making a little more sense. The vortec guy always gets a little perky when he hears NV4500. He's bought others to crush just for this. He did mention the instrument cluster would not work also. The 98 has a good dash and cluster but it is a different color. L/H...

TBI350 to L31 swap. I'm told close to impossible.

I have a totaled, but complete 98 K2500 with the NV4500. Has a goodwrench crate from about 70K ago. Still starts and runs great. Was t-boned in the drivers door at speed. Frame and cab are destroyed. It was an impressive strong runner directly before the accident. I also have a complete...

Sway bar bushings. Why eleventy-nine sizes?

These parts were correct for this truck. Not a bad job to complete. I did put the links in upside down and cut the bolt flush to the nut. I think that saved alot of frustration and should be irrelevant to its function. It looks like the bushings will be real difficult to grease, so I slopped...

    Wiper switch replacement questions

Richard. That's an excellent diagram. Thanks for posting this. Received the part and tackled this today. I opted for OEM, not wanting to do this again. If you can get all the way through to the turn signal switch / ignition switch replacement you're 90% of the way there. Plenty of videos...

    Wiper switch replacement questions

Oops. Forgot the refresh went to single key door / ignition. That answers that. Not too sure why tilt / no tilt would matter either. Possibly just harness length. I'll fumble through the switch replacement and drop any needed info here should it arise.

    Wiper switch replacement questions

93 Yukon. Wiper switch is all wonky. Feels like something is cracked in the switch housing. It absolutely will not accept the new stalk, nor can I get the old stalk back in no matter how I hold my mouth. It's also stuck on super low pulse which I can correct with a pick in the stem hole. I...

Sway bar bushings. Why eleventy-nine sizes?

Thanks everybody. I'm going with the Energy Suspension 3.5181G. I'll report back if there is any goofiness.

Sway bar bushings. Why eleventy-nine sizes?

My 93 Yukon needs end links. Would be more than mildly dumb no to change the sway bar bushings. Parts check reveals numerous bar sizes. Why? For such a basic suspension component this seems very strange. Bone stock 4x and it appears they've never been touched. Are they stamped somewhere...
