    Washing engine bay

Yea, I don't cover anything up, I don't avoid spraying anything directly, I don't disconnect the battery, and I only use a pressure washer. And I have a big, 3600 PSI one. Never an issue. Caveats: I use the widest spray nozzle (if they are universal, the white, 40 degrees one). I do not hold...

    AC Condenser help

I'm confused about what doesn't fit exactly? When I did this for my Suburban, both rockauto and Amazon had ones that fit. I bought the OSC one from rockauto, but it didn't look like the original (less fins and tubing), so I returned it and got a Denso one. Unfortunately it looked identical, so I...

Wipers will not shut off. New wiper motor/board and new Multi switch

Mine cost me about $250 for my '99 Suburban. You can buy Chinese knockoffs for under $50, but considering how much of a pain in the ass it is to do this job, I only wanted to do it once.

    AC Clutch doesn’t disengage

True. Cheap and very easy to do. I replaced mine when I rebuilt the leaking components of the system in my truck. Literally, unplug the wire, remove, replace, profit. Should take less then 5 mins. Cost is about $20.

    AC Clutch doesn’t disengage

Not exactly. I can cycle, from my admittedly very limited understanding, it has to do with refrigerant pressure, which is related to the ambient temps. Basically, if it's not that warm outside and there isn't a large heat load on the system, the low side pressure drops below the cutoff of the...

    Weird Check Engine Light Issue

Hi everyone, weird problem. Got a CE light earlier this week, pulled a code, and got a pending code P0157. But this equation isn't about the code, but the light behavior itself. The CE light came on for the pending code, and today, while driving, it went off. I scanned it, and now, it is a...

95 k1500 5.7 slight rough idle while stopped

Honestly, these trucks don't really idle smoothly. What you're describing as a "slight rough idle" may be completely normal. Mine has some slight but noticeable vibrations and idle speed variations when stopped. Despite what people think, V8 engines aren't inherently smooth.

    Weird starting problem

For sure, that's why I wasn't convinced that it was a bad battery. I replaced it anyway. New starter is in, so far so good. Seemed that it would act up after driving for a while. Something about heat and the starter solenoid didn't agree. Which is annoying because it's a less than a year old...

    Weird starting problem

Thanks, I did replace the battery just in case, although the voltage on the old battery measured 12.5V. Had the same failure today on thr new battery. The only thing that got it runing again was just waiting to cool. And it started up like nothing ever happened. Have a new starter on the way.

    Weird starting problem

Thanks, every connection I found to check is tight. Starter as well.

    Weird starting problem

Thank you, that's good to know. I wasn't sure how that system works.

    Weird starting problem

Actually, I spoke to a mechanic friend of mine, he said likely bad starter. It started right up when it cooled down. Sucks that it's a new Delco starter.

    Weird starting problem

Hi everyone, 1999 Suburban with a weird starting issue yesterday. Drove to Costco, parked, came back and tried to start. All dash lights came on appropriately, stereo (aftermarket with large screen) came on, but when turning the key to "start", silence. No starter solenoid click, no crank at...
