Schurkey advised against leaving them off. I don't remember where but it stood out to me.. Makes sense that they serve an important purpose. I'd like to forget them sometimes too...lol

1993 Yukon crate motor hydraulic roller lifter cleaning and adjustment journey - (Solved)

Have the Dayco Street balancer installed and I think it has more shake than the OEM version.. TBH, the Amazon AC Delco was the best of the 3 I've tried so far.. Why would the DAYCO Street version say neutral balanced on the box when there's only evidence of one drilling on the ring...

1994 5.7 TBI installing Harmonic balancer, crankshaft balancer, vibration dampener etc

my crank pulley is angled/leaning in a hair on the driver's side... getting 3 points of contact from power steering pulley and crank pulley... Balancer can't pull on crooked can it? Guess I'll loosen pulley bolts and re-torque but crank bolt is torqued to pulley so I can't see how it'll change?

1994 5.7 TBI installing Harmonic balancer, crankshaft balancer, vibration dampener etc

So I'm swapping out the oem Dayco balancer because it had a bit more shake than I liked. Pretty certain the AC Delco one I tried in recent past had much less. I got the Street version of the Dayco. Not sure if it'll be better... But I had a couple of observations. The Street version balancer...

Old floor jack no longer holds. Time for a new one.

I'd love to have one of these. A mobile mechanic had just the regular Daytona and it was nice. Space is often limited in my garage . The long throw of the handle and , I'm guessing the handle not pivoting could be an issue. As much as I hate the Big Red/Torin one I have, it works in tight...

    power steering pump whine issues

I just put a reman Cardone in and yeah, it's very noisy compared to my original. I do have a slight leak coming from one of the plugs on the back I had to swap over from mine... I'm just assuming I got a tiny bit of air getting in there? Not looking forward to getting it back out again.... Pump...

1993 Yukon crate motor hydraulic roller lifter cleaning and adjustment journey - (Solved)

Figured I'd update.. The OEM Dayco Powerbond is made in China The Street version is made in Australia...if that's what country of origin means?? Assuming the SFI balanced one is made in Australia too but idk... I didn't like the little bit of shake the OEM version had so Summit let me swap to...

    Water Pump Advice

I think the Duralast I replaced with this one under warranty was about 1 year old. The bearing was binding up a bit in a certain spot. I wouldn't have noticed had I not been getting at my balancer.

    Tie rod ball joint question.

Sorry. You're right. I just messed with the clamps. Well the driver's side is obviously very limited in movement compared to passenger side. Does that mean the alignment wasn't as good as it could/should have been?

    Tie rod ball joint question.

Does this mean it should be set up for minimal movement? I just had an alignment 5 days ago... unfortunately I decided to mess with my ride height after and actually had to turn my adjuster sleeve on one side because they had the clamp bolts hitting my sway bar. Don't think I moved anything but...

    Water Pump Advice

I don't know. It's original to the truck when I got it. I remember replacing the clutch maybe 7 years ago with whatever parts store gave me for my year make and model so I guess it's what's supposed to be on it. All levels are good. Do have a replacement cap that was put on several months...

    Water Pump Advice

Is the water pump supposed to spin this easy? Could have sworn it always had more resistance. And it's got a funny eerr sound...little pooter..when first spinning... Just curious....It's only a couple of months old.... here's a couple of videos.... I guess it obviously has more resistance...

    Tie rod ball joint question.

Hope it's ok to jump in. I was wondering why my passenger side tie rods have more movement from stop to stop in a certain direction than the driver's side. There is no up/down plunger type slop but it's confusing as to why there's a difference in the way they feel? Here's a video of what I'm...
