The cup still remains in the bore. That's where the attachment can be used to pull it out. I'm going try and do that now.

And the other cup:

Freakin' service manual is garbage when explaining how to remove the cups. I know I could use a drift. I actually don't have a set of drifts. LOL

Edit: After some more research, I figured out I am missing the attachment for removing the cups. Going to buy one and this will be put on hold til next week.

I bought the attachment this morning, and the seller shipped it out this morning with ETA of Monday, 12/5. That will be used to remove the inside and outside pinion bearing cups.

In the meantime, the side (carrier) bearing cups still need removal. One is on the adjuster that I removed:

The other is inside the right cover by that adjuster:

For the first photo, there are two internal grooves inside the adjuster, adjacent to the cup, directly across from one another, which seem to be made for pulling the cup out:

Of course, none of my pullers can fit in those grooves. About the only thing that would fit is a brake spring tool. LOL

This adjuster sleeve is aluminum, so I can't really pry against it. Going to heat it up with a heat gun and throw some PB Blaster on it. I'll need as much help as possible to use as little effort as possible to pry the cup out.

Going to try this. The puller tip is smallest I have. Clamped it down in a Vise-Grips, then attached the Vise-Grips to a slide hammer. I will screw the adjuster sleeve back into the left housing which is still upside down on the vise and fixture tool. Some heat, slide hammer, and gravity, I think they will pop it loose.

I'll probably buy another adjuster sleeve and call that cup removal a loss.

Moving on, removed the last needle bearing from the passenger's-side adjuster sleeve using heat gun and 34mm socket.

There's a stop resting against the adjuster sleeve. Pry it out of the way before turning the adjuster sleeve. Per the manual, you should be able to turn the adjuster sleeve against the bearing cup to remove the bearing cup which rests against it.

Keep turning the adjuster clockwise and it will push out the cup.
