Us slammed guys on 15" rims couldnt run those... drop spindles make it tough for 15s because that tire rod end is right where the wheel lip is. Excuse for bigger wheels! HAHA

Thanks for posting. Never heard of that brand but I know now!

I installed a Proforged idler arm and idler arm bearing not too long ago. My initial impression was good but when I yanked on the centerlink the other day to check it the idler bearing resulted in some vertical movement, kind of similar to the original 145k mile one I replaced. To be fair, the original wasn’t that bad, but I was expecting it to still be as tight as the day I installed it.

Also, when everyone says MOOG this or MOOG that, what MOOG line are we talking about? Their top of the line or their economy line that they sell to compete with the rest of the junk out there?

I told my wife the other day, I’d pay at least $50 for a garden hose nozzle that lasts more than one year! I’m getting so sick of having to choose between this piece of made in China crap or that piece of made in China crap.

there is a made in the USA sprayer hose https://www.triconsprayers.com/coll...-water-spray-nozzle-with-adjustable-spray-tip

i don't even consider economy lines, idk how a ball joint can be built for $5 and be worth anything. i have seen several posts saying mevotech is no better than moog at the lower and mid lines. the heavy duty TX series seems to be the exception though.
so those seem to be the winner for ball joints and maybe tie rods if i really need them

i need a good choice for the idler arms, and pitman arm now. does AC delco still rebrand others stuff or do they make it in house now. i would be looking at the professional line, not advantage.

We be talking the premium Moog BJ's.

When you be talking "idler bearing" are you referring to the idler arm or the idler arm bracket?
So far, I haven't found a brand better than Moog for the arm or bracket. But if MevoTech made idler arm or bracket in their TX line for these trucks I'd give them a whirl when it came time to replace the parts.

I hear you about the garden hose nozzle........

Thanks for the garden hose sprayer link!

From my understanding AC Delco is just a parts sourcing entity. Which means you never know where they choose to source a part, it could be from the OEM or it could be some other aftermarket supplier. I think in general they do source medium to high grade parts, but there’s never a guarantee you’re getting OE quality.

By idler arm bearing I meant the bracket, specifically for a K3500.

I just bought a bunch of Moog problem solver parts for a front end rebuild on a c1500. 90% of the parts were made in the U.S. At least that's what the labels say. I don't know if the parts are different for k1500s, but the parts I got look solid. I'll update my build thread after I've installed everything and put a few thousand miles on them.

my 1996 K1500 is at 240K miles. I replaced upper ball joints and all the steering about 10 years ago. thought that would be the last time. well that was with a mix of auto zone parts i believe. the upper ball joints didn't last and replaced them about 3 years ago with MOOG, as well as one side MOOG inner/outer tie rods. the auto zone pitman and idler arm are trash too now. so my situation is now i need to do some of my front end again. my Moog parts that are on it seem still fine. the internets seem to be in consensus is that MOOG has gone way downhill. Im not sure if I'm keen on the way MOOG has the boots on the lower ball joints these days. i need to get lower ball joints for stamped arms, pitman arm, idler arm, one side set of tie rods, and one CV half shaft. i have the warranty on power steering pump and box so will be swapping them too. who are the go to brands now for parts? i really want this to be the last time. ( i say that ever time now) the lower ball joints are factory still hand have had slit boots for well over 13 years now. i see people talk well about MEVOTECH TXK line? are AC delco professional any good? i don't see an AC delco OEM line for the balljoints, unless I'm missing something. does MOOG really suck now?
I used a 16 piece kit from TRQ it included every thing after new rag joint I am pleased with the out come

I’m in the middle of replacing all control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, and idler bracket. All ACDelco Professional line. It’s a mix of made in USA, Mexico, and Taiwan. Everything seems nice and tight though and a better fit and finish than economy parts store stuff. This seemed like the right balance of cost and quality to keep it going for a few more years before my SAS plans come to fruition.
