The 454 whipple charger pushes 6-8PSI on the stock pulley. Expect around 330 hp and 450 ft lbs of torque according to the binder I have at my house on my kit.

Those are small block numbers. Whipple rated the kit at 450/600 IIRC. It's a 2.3L blower, but the setup isn't going to win any races. It sure makes towing a breeze though.

That’s kind of what I was afraid of I guess I should pull it all off and put it up for sale has under 50,000 miles on it I’m going to be building a 496 for the truck and a2.3l blower will not be big enough

I looked hard for a large similar style blower for a larger bbc and was not able to come up with a good efi setup that would not stick way up above the engine. Ended up going a single turbo pathway

if you sell it let me know , id love to upgrade from my 1.6l whipple on my 7.4 but also these are twin screw kits so a smaller output is the same as a larger straight rotor roots. a 1.6l whipple is what 99ci per rev and from what i gather is about the same as a weiand 177. example , whipple uses 3.3L chargers on 500ci engines . from whipples site for their big block marine chargers.

Proper Whipple Sizing:

500-800HP - 3.3L compressor, standard 8" intercooler
750-900HP - 3.3L compressor, MOAC intercooler
850-1600HP - See W510R

to get the same from a roots you would need atleast an 8-71 to reach 800 to 900 hp . you also also remove the factory vortec intake and go after market efi intake (looks like a carb intake) and intercool the air which to be honest isnt as needed on a twin screw but will help . so unless you are shooting for the moon that 2.3l should be good.
