For the once in a blue moon pull out off wet grass / soft mud., ther ok.. but if u are winching alot and using the front end for snatching, better beef it up

Several years ago I used the front tow hooks on my 95 K1500 to pull out some relatively small shrub/roots to build a deck. Both tow hooks bent pretty easily.

The frame on my dually was a little torn, but the hooks were no worse for the wear. PO buried it good in the mud on a pipeline welding job. My impression is that the frame will give first with a jerk. Slow, steady winching may be a different game.

Yeah... especially on a 4x4, 6.5 CCLB.... that's a heavy a$$ truck. Way more than the 5500# my truck weighs dry, I would figure.
