I feel like it depends on the transmission bell housing, my 98 4l60e has the single piece removable bell and it does not have any provisions for those rods

Now for the life of me and my brain I have no idea which plate goes on which side. You seem to know a lot about this. Can you please Give me some direction?
You're going to have to play with them and fine out. I sold my '99 years ago and I only have TBI trucks now.

I think that's an L31 thing. As far as I know the TBI motors didn't have them - the 700R4's bellhousing won't work with them. I dunno about the NV3500. The support rods went from the bottom of the bellhousing to plates that went under the motor mounts.
My 95 K2500 7.4L TBI had the support rods and they mounted from the torque converter cover to a bracket right by each engine mount
