I have LED strip lights in my bed now, and there always under tonneau cover. But any of you have input or recommendations for something different Under the hood for lighting? how inportant is the fabric if i wanted to remove it to get more lighting

@kennythewelder , how did you illuminate your bowtie?
Like this, and I power it from the OE hood light switch, so it comes on, when you open the hood, and goes off, when you close the hood. All LED rope lights. I also used the same lights, under the lip of the crawl, where the gasket is, or just under the lip, and 2 smaller strips at the front of the hood, next to the holes by the latch.

Also, I removed the insulation from under my hood, and used some bed liner I had in a spray can, in about the same area, as where the OE insulation was. Here are pics, and also of the switch

Are they all picked at treasure yards?
Yeah, that's the switch. I actually took mine apart, and took off the shield that covers the light, then I realized that the actual switch itself, has wires coming off of it, so I soldered my wires to those wires. Then I hide all my wiring, inside the ribs of the hood.

perfect. good projec for the weekend.
If your going to use LED rope lights, get some 3M double sided tape, to install them. The peal and stick that comes on these lights, will not hold up, at all. Just put the 3M DST where you want to put the lights, and install the LEDs on that. All is just peal and stick. The 3M DST will work. These lights have been on my truck for several years.

I wired an LED light strip at top of hood connected to a toggle switch mounted to 12V terminal cover. Truck also has the 30 ft wind up light next to battery.
