ok you guys brought attenion to my neglected little light i need to take it apart to because when i pull it out it blinks off & on

Just spent an hour tinkering with it. I pulled it apart & cleaned the contacts...there was a little corrosion. Hooked everything back up & still no go. Following the wires I see that it's wired to the fuel pump relay box on the passenger side firewall. Ground was not hooked up & the inline fuse was also blown...haha...

Got a new fuse, hooked up the ground, & it works...woot!

95s had them I believe and 96 Vortec trucks had them too.
Mine's mounted up on the firewall in my 1996 and I love it, needs a brighter bulb though.

Square dash 400's had them on the inner passenger fender.
Round dash trucks had them on the firewall.

I had one on my '91 K2500LD. It was a last resort source of light.......

Of course, this was before Al Gore invented LED's. An LED bulb of some sort may improve it's lighting power.

Although cool, I don't miss the reel light on my '96 and '97.
