Hello everyone,
I’ve owned my truck for almost a year now and noticed that my interior rearview mirror has 3 buttons on top and when I click them they do nothing.
My truck has had some custom work done to it before it came into my possession and I believe the mirror isn’t original. 2 of the buttons are for courtesy light and I thought maybe they where burnt out but that wasn’t the case it’s almost like there’s no power to the mirror itself. I’ve checked to make sure the fuse isn’t blown, and it wasn’t. So now I’m here looking for answers anything helps.

Try to start with , make, model, year, eng , trans if applicable. We don't know what you have, C1500, K3500, W6000, Kodiak, GMC Astro, Sub, Tahoe, Corvair, Dirigible Zeppelin.
Different years have different options, not all options are available for all years. Options list for 88 one page. Option list for 98 is four and a half. If you have the owners handbook have you checked in it?
The owners handbook can also be downloaded for free from the " GM heritage " Web site.

The only thing the 95 service manual refers to is if is came with the " electronic compass " . So you would have to look at some later years to see what your came out of. Later years have options for garage door link operation and such.

Sounds like a GMT 800 mirror. I remember the Denali had one with lights on the bottom. It also displayed compass and temperature at the same time, where the 400 mirror is either temperature or compass. Rawhide's is on compass, the temperature doesn't read so I'm presuming the sensor is damaged or unplugged. Something else to check when I pull the grille... which will likely involve pulling the grille/brush guard...so not a 5 minute job, and not anytime soon.

I looked up the gmt 800 mirror and they don’t look similar and I’ve tried to look up the years to see if maybe it’s from a different one and can’t find anything. The mirror has power to it because I was able to test it with a Ohms reader today and it said the mirror has power to the lights but the lights don’t turn on I’ll attach photos so you can see what the mirror looks like

Yes that's an aftermarket one.

You should be able to slide it off the tab. Then there should some ID on it somewhere, figure out the brand , then get some information from the manufacturer. That's what I'd do.
