Hey this is my first forum but I have a 99 k1500 classic so it’s pretty much a 98. I just lifted it and but 35s on it I pull trailers here and there but I’d eventually like to start taking it mudding. My problem is my 3-4 clutches went out in the tranny like many other 4l60s, should I replace it with a brand new Gm 4l60 or go with a built one from an aftermarket company if so which ones are good. Thanks for the advice
If anyone has a mud truck with a stock 4l60 how does it do

If you're looking for tips on what all is involved in the swap I have a thread here on the subject. I had my mechanic do the install but I researched all the parts. This was on a 2WD truck so you'll have the transfer case and front driveshaft to deal with in addition to everything mentioned in here.

If you are looking to fix it cheap, I know a guy in Springfield IL who will rebuild and put it in for $1500 he had my truck done in less than a week. He also gives a 1 year/12k warranty even if he doesn't install it.
