You can't.... well not very well. I've read that some guys hack off the spindle side of the CV shaft and install just that. I think it MAY be possible to run 2wd GMT-800 hubs on our trucks. That would be the best method, I think, if it's actually doable. The mounting flange looks the same, but I have no idea of the brake side would work on a 400.
That's what I was wondering about......

You still have to run stub shaft off end of CV axle to keep bearing together

This , I learned this very quickly years ago when my trail rig was still IFS. I pulled the CV to get the truck off the trail without damaging anything else. Ive heard of Toyotas IFS being able to do this with almost zero issue with their unit bearings So I tried. but mine ate it self in about 4 miles of trails back to camp.
