i dont think anyone said that primarily. cheap lifts arent good "leveling kits" also not great. body lifts have benefits and safety cautions based on poor install or backwoods installs. adding lots of lift and tire and not supporting that with gearing, driveline, braking, and tuning also isnt good. its a recipe you cant just toss flour in a bowl and expect it to be cake. theres also limits here. limits to suspension geometry and alignment.

beyond that you get into preferential. i dont like brand x because its not a true 6" drop and their steering stabilizer sucks. or i dont like Y because my crossmember cracked.

in todays market, once again, my preference would be superlift or BDS based on true 6" of lift, and their steering drop is or was (its been a minute) better than most others. these brands also have older kits that have some lackluster feature but these are also my experiences. now this also means im pairing this lift with all spring in the rear, regearing it and tuning the ecu for my larger tire and gear sizes so my shift points are good and im not generating excessive heat. im also checking my driveline lengths

All I read is that the lift kits arent good.

Is there a general consensus on a good to great lift kit? Just looking at all my options before choosing a build direction.
BDS Suspension. I wouldn't consider anything else.

Wonder if anyone has seen this kit. Just found it. Says it’s six inch but the crossmember drop would give some additional unless the coils/spindles are both 2 inches

Hi, not sure where to post this so here it is. I bought my 94 K1500 with the lift on it, i believe its a 6in lift. I ran 2in spacers w my stocks (315/75r16) and they didnt rub. I then bought wheels with -36 offset and they were 10in wide and they rubbed like crazy on the lower control arm when i turned. My question is why would it rub on the control arm and im looking into getting some 20x12s and how can i prevent them from rubbing on the control arm? Thank you
