Why LTS (Long Taper Seat), do you have aluminum heads? Standard plugs for iron heads s/b R44TS. If you do have aluminum heads you probably should use long reach flat gasket plugs. They are r44lts spark plugs. Ac delco

The only issue is with the long reach plugs, if the threads stick out into the combustion chamber AND they get carbon build up, good luck getting them back out easily.Came with the motor from gm. I know these heads are cast iron
What was oem?The only issue is with the long reach plugs, if the threads stick out into the combustion chamber AND they get carbon build up, good luck getting them back out easily.

So I shouldn't have any threads showing on the spark plug?IIRC R44(or 45)TS
Edit: you may be able to take a pick, stick it in the plug hole to the end of the threads, and measure your depth.

I agree. No heads I've ever worked on had the threads protrude into the head.IMO, no. Anyone else want to chime in?
