It shouldn’t if you cap where the tube used to run into the TBI and where it runs to the gas tank. This will avoid a vacuum leak and your truck smelling like gas.

looking for feed back on roller tip rockers, 1.6 ratio self aligning for a 95 tbi 5.7 with 70k miles on it.
stock except flowmaster exhaust and cat, k&n air filter, 3.73's.
seems like it's too easy not to do it, if they work as advertised.
looking for more torque when towing.
worth the investment? any other parts required?
would stock valve covers still work?

thx.

My '95 350 TBI c1500 with 198000 miles is running pretty bad now that it's heating up outside. It's had a rough idle for a while that I haven't worried about since I don't use the truck much but it's getting quite a bit rougher lately. It's also starting to buck when cruising low/mid rpms about 45-55 mph like it's low on gas or misfiring.

Plugs / Wires / 02 sensor / Dizzy Cap & rotor / ignition timing was reset / Fuel filter / EGR were replaced about 3 years / 20000 miles ago. I haven't drove it a whole lot over the past 8 months, maybe 2 or 3 days a week. It doesn't leak any fluids at all. No check engine light is coming on.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should start trying to diagnose what's causing the miss? I don't really wanna play parts roulette at all, I'm comfortable checking sensors and other parts with a multimeter.

What brand dizzy did you buy? I bought a Spectra Premium in which less than 3,000 miles my engine started surging and the tach would jump up over 4K and back again. Turns out it was the ICM (Ignition Control Module). I went to an AC Delco with MX-4 thermal compound under it, and dielectric silicone on the connectors - runs like a champ!

I'm seeing more and more folks finding this was their issue. These ICMs don't last very long, especially cheap replacements.

You may have to change your push rods, get an adjustable push rod to make sure.

Your valve covers will probably fit OK.

I am still running the original distributor. The cap and rotor came from summit but I do not remember the brand.

I have a 5.7 TBI motor from a ‘91 K3500 that I paid 250 bucks for. I did something stupid and stripped about the first 2 threads on a bolt, and in the bolt hole as well, I assume. I’m gonna go ahead and invest in a tap and die set and I need to know if the bolt holes are metric or SAE. Most of the bolts seem to be 14mm so I assume that the threads are metric as well? I’d like to know for sure before I buy a tap and die set.
