Is it possible for me to put a 98 K1500 rear end (the whole thing) on my 92 C1500? I know the K1500 is wider but will it all still bolt up? Anyone done this before? Im trying to do a 5 lug to 6 lug swap and have a K1500 rear end already.
It'll bolt to the springs. If it's a 9.5 the u-joint is larger than the 8.5.

im pretty sure its an 8.5 but im not totally sure. Its got 3.73 gearing and a locker. And also if it is 9.5 is there an adapter or could i just get the bigger u joint? And will everything else bolt up?

hello so first time ever using a forum so not sure if i am posting this right.
anyway I got a dumb axle question. i have a 91 v1500 suburban with the 8.5 10 bolt six lug rear end. the axle housing is damaged and i am going to get a new housing. so the question is what year's and model's, trucks ten bolt axle housings would fit in this truck without any real fab work?

This is the wrong forum unfortunately. This is for gmt400 trucks. So I'm not 100% sure but I would guess 73-87 plus v series 4x4 rear 10 bolts.

Are all the 88-00 K2500 14bsf axles the same for the most part? I'm looking to upgrade my 97's G80 10bsf before it explodes (and before I upgrade my 350) and want to know if I can pull it from any year in that range, or should I look for a specific range, like 96-00 or so? Also I'm guessing I already know, but did the K2500 14bsf axles come WITHOUT the G80 option, so open-diff?

It's either a K2500 14bsf or I'll find an equivalent GMT800 axle with discs and have the necessary parts re-welded for my truck... I want discs anyway.

Most of the F44 14bsf rear axles that I have seen have the G80 in them.

Hey guys! 1995 K1500 with the lovely 6.5L Detroit.
Having one hell of a time swapping out huh assembly and CV axle on the driver side.(no mechanic experience really) anyhow I’ve broken the heads off of 2 of the hub assembly bolts and I’m over it. I found a guy with an 89 that will sell me the spindle for 50 bucks. What size bolt is the spindle? There are two(upper and lower controls) and I thought the top was a 19 and the bottom a 24 but on mine their the same and bigger than a 24. That’s where my socket set runs out so before I go buy one I figured I’d check here
