well driving back from lake charles with no exhaust fucking sucked, but what sucks about 10000 times more is that i fucked up the mating surface of my 241... apparently your not supposed to tighten studs into an aluminum tcase as hard as we did yesterday. the threads on the short side of the stud wher about 1/4" longer than the thickness of the ring so we figured tighten them real good so they dont come out, yea not such a good idea. after we pulled it out and saw what we did, the only thing we had available to try and fix it was jb weld:( , so we filled in the spots with that and filed it down, added a liberal layer of RTV and commenced to reinstalling... all seemed to be going smoothly untill after i filled the case again and backed it up 20 feet so i could clean the shop, well it leaks again, so im gonna try a few things to help my cause here in the next few days, but if i cant get it right, i guess ill have to bring it to a machine shope and get the spots filled in with weld and milled down flush. oh what a joyous day, and now what you've all been waiting for, the pics

i had ordered some offset UDSR shackles and upon their arrival it was clearly visible they where identical to my off the shelf UDSRs... one call to the good ppl at DIY4X and the correct shackles are on their way

found a set of springs, damn things have 3/4" bolts :insane:
    PICT1001.jpg

and then put my front hangers on... the stock tow hooks juuuuuuuust fit sitting on top of the frame, i test fit my 7/8'' shackle and it fits, that will be the only way they will be able to be used

was an eventfull weekend to say the least... the good: i got my 14ff buttoned up so its ready the install, the bad: the 10blt housing was in piss poor shape... 7-8 months of the cake mix sitting inside took its tole on it, took FOREVER to get all teh crap out of it, there was sand in the damn carrier and shit, so i had to take everything out of the housing and proceeded to then pressure wash then clean everything with a combo of brake cleaner and diesel. after than i began to sand down the seal surface of the spare shaft nick had given me since the outer of the original shaft was fubared in the area the spindle support bearing rides on.. well spend the better part of 30 mins on that before realizing the ujoint on it was frozen on one side, so i ended up sticking the original one back in there for now. also thanks go out to ILL for hooking me up with a set of spindles after breaking even more of the race lip off with a slide hammer trying to extract that race, then chipping a chisel while trying to cut said race. well after that, i have the all pinion and carrier in the axle ect, i go to put my previously purchased pinion seal in and it just falls down into the housing.. great, seems the genious at advanced ordered me a rear 10blt seal, and nobody in town stocks them so it has to wait till another weekend. now after all this one would think/hope thats all that would go wrong, ohhhhhh but you'd be wrong. i went to drive the races out of the driver side hub of the 10blt all went well... pounded the outer race in, again all was well, beat the inner race in with like 8 hits... hmm. well i could pull it out with my fingers... yay a spun race. well pick up the pass side which was supposed to be in good shape, in order to get the rotors turned durring the week, well my dad say let me see and sticks his finger in and scoops out the outer race with just his finger, so im now as is stands short two 8 lug 10blt hubs :pow:

enough of the novel which was my weekend, on to the pics

decided id make the boggers purly for play, so I bought some Military XML tires... btw i wouldnt recommend them to anybody they weigh as much as a 44 tsl and they dont last very long if you have a locked rear and a heavy foot (8k miles :x)
