The more I think about this, with the sensor in the return line all you'll know is how well your cooler is working. If you put it on the other line you'll get a better indication of how hot your trans actually is.

The solution is........TWO temp gauges--one in the trans outlet line, the other for the trans inlet line....

Actually, I wrote about temporarily doing just that when I order gauges for both my 96 and 97. We'll see if I get around to doing that.
