Looks like I was having an some sort of intake leak. Seals burned up from all the back firing.

Now I'm moving on too the holley fuel pressure regulator and wiring of the fuel pump. PN 12-887 holley bypass style FPR. Now as for the wiring I'm not doing that purple wire with the white stripe. I don't want the computer to still control the fuel pump. so I'm going to do it straight off the the relay.

Alrighty managed to get it to run on the EST DISTRIBUTOR. So I know the carb is at least in decent shape.

What was the objective here? On a stockish motor, ditching the TBI is a downgrade. Lose that spacer collar on top of the carb, it's shrouding it and restricting airflow. A good chunk of the airflow comes in from the sides.

Cool.....I have done 4 of these conversions on various vehicles .....always happy with the results .....the only recurring issue I see here in Florida is heat soak / vapor lock ....... Im not saying you will run into it with your setup but you may ...I always run a plastic carb spacer to help with that issue and drill a 1/16 hole in my fuel cap.
