When someone says "pantyhose, Catholic high school and hot", I suddenly forget the subject of the original conversation!!!
You must've been "one of those boys the nuns warned us about" LoL...
It was a coed school run by the Christian Brothers; we had a few of them as teachers and a nun or two as teachers. Rest of the staff was civilians or lay people.

Not much going on lately but been driving Critter daily for work. The CEL has been a bit more common on the freeway and I'm pretty sure I'll find it's still the lean exhaust code. MPG has dropped off a little bit, presumably because it's adding fuel trying to combat the alleged lean condition.

I've also noticed there's a part throttle stumble that has gotten worse. First guesses to explore, the EGR is acting up (that'll be fun since it's resisted removal so far due to rusty hardware), fuel pressure is marginal (my filters are here so I can test pressure while I'm swapping it), or it's extra oxygen in the exhaust due to leaks from the cracked manifolds.. or a combination of issues.

Maybe even a flaky TPS, which I should hopefully be able to see with the Tech 2. I don't have an analog meter to watch for spikes in the sweep, but I'm thinking if I press the pedal gradually enough I should see if there's any odd looking data on the Tech 2.

What kind of MPG do you get with critter? I haven’t driven my 454 enough to know what to expect. C vs. K yeah but enough to give me an idea. I’m expecting 11.

I’m curious too.

My old dually got the same mpg loaded and unloaded. I suspect 10-11 range

Yeah, was getting a hair over 10, now it seems to have dropped to around 8.5-9. I also switched gas stations to one closer to me, it's a new place but off-brand fuel, who knows if it sucks or not.. might switch back to the other place.

Did get a chance after doing some other stuff to throw on a new air filter; old one was pretty cruddy. Fuel filter on hand too but I had to pack it in for the day. Dead tired and it was getting ready to start raining so I had to move all the trucks around, roll up windows, put stuff up. BTW that Wix 42098 air filter spec'd for these trucks is like a couple millimeters too tall. Even with the air cleaner lid wing nuts nice and tight, there's the slightest gap between the housing and the lid. Kinda annoying but shouldn't be a real problem.

I'll dig into the other stuff tomorrow with the Tech 2, fuel pressure gauge (and new filter), etc.
