I am updating this thread with a picture of the 265/75-16 spare in it's location.
Tight fit but, never had any problems with it.

This is for the fellow that sent me a question unfortunately the email was deleted.

285/75R16's fit my old 99 Diesel Burb perfectly. Only rubbed if you were at full lock and hit a bump. No messing with the torsion bars. Had a full sized spare in the back, but no cover. It was a W/T model so I didn't care. Somedays I miss this old beast. The crank broke 3 months after I sold it.

I have a similar question, I have a 93 k2500 suburban and want to run 285/75/16s but I’ve been told those are unsafe to run on the factory 6.5 wide wheels. I know 255/85/16 are an option that fit the factory wheel but there are very limited tire options in that size. Has anyone had issues with the 285/75/16 on the factory wheels?

285 mm is 11.25". That's two and a half inches overhanging on each side. I wouldn't run it, and I do stupid stuff. Gonna look like the balloon tires they run on Saudi trucks.

I ran 315/75s on stock wheels. Its fine. Only reason they don't recommend is tire wear in the center. I have 285s on stock aluminum wheels and looks like it's made to fit that size wheel.

…..and here’s 265/75/16 on steel wheel. And this looks to me like it was made for this wheel.

Those are stock rims on 285/75R16's above and below. No issues, never popped a bead. Ran over 30K miles with those tires before I sold it.

Well, apologies. Coming from a more car-centric experience, I thought for sure a 5" difference was too much. If it rolls nicely, send it.

I may have done a few things over the years that could've been part of commercials. Also a few things that I'm glad were not filmed in any way.
