That's the Mitsubishi L200, they were one of the more common 4x4s down under in the 80s along with the Toyota Hilux. They were a good ute.
here they were the d50 78-91 ram50/powerram50 82-93 mightymax 78-9? and plymouth arrow turck 78-81 it was just toyota truck or toyota pickup we did not get a name here we got the mazda b series and the hard-body
we got these for a few years too same as the montero
I would rather have the s10 I posted here but not for that price to me it is worth 1000

I'm voting in favor of a Dodge Rampage. Apparently you can still score a pretty nice one for under $5k.

My stepdad had the Mighty Max back in the mid 80's. Seemed like a pretty reliable truck for him as he went back and forth from Kingsville to Houston often (about 3.5 hrs one way.) Here in the U.S. I'm pretty sure they were all the gas engine, as small diesel trucks weren't (and still for the most part aren't) a thing here. I will say a few diesel VW "Sportruck" models may have been sold here.
