Math test... only a few problems even attempted, only one even close to being right, with a giant bite out of the corner. Yes, I'm sure it's a bite, I have witnesses. This isn't kindergarten either, this kid is 11 years old...

Are you in one of those schools that allows kids to 'identify' as animals?

I want to be respectful and assume it's possibly a developmentally delayed child; but I also know from interacting with some kids these days there's nothing wrong with them, they're just weird.

Nope, its a working class Hispanic neighborhood in the country. The district is still too soft on discipline for my tastes but at least we don't play those games.

Maybe. We're having a SST meeting for him soon with the parents, counselor, and other specialists. He came from another country and has been at a different school nearly every year since being here. He still doesn't speak English and wont do any work. He sure is Mr Funny Guy with the other kids though, so I'm not sure if it's nature or nurture.

My guess is the lack of stability has made him this way, but we'll see. A lot of times kids who genuinely struggle act out to cover it up. They'd much rather be known as "bad" than "dumb".
