I was at my local salvage yard today and found three standard cabs, all 90's but not sure of the exact year. They were all clean rust free and I got to thinking I should just swap my cab rather than repair rust.
My truck is a 1988 so I'm not sure if any of the later cabs will work. The rust is all cowl water leaks that kept the floor padding nice and wet, rubber floor mat rather than carpet kept it wet!
The worst is at the drivers front cab mount and passenger cab corner , door pillar, inner and outer rockers are all good.
So should I just make the needed repairs or move up to a nice clean used cab.
Last thing is Vin tag, anyone have any experience with this in Florida ?

The cab I found is very clean, rust free. I'm just concerned with which years are compatible .
I’m pretty sure cabs can be swapped throughout the entire obs era. Even from 1st and 2nd gen interiors. Clips are all the same
