Hey quick question hopefully yall can help. I had to replace my column shifter today, and notice the a cable to is closer to the passenger side and goes down to a switch or something about halfway down the steering shaft wouldn't stay on the shift mechanism. What is that rod/cable called so I can replace it?

Thats the brake peddle safety switch. Goes to a wire connector rite? Without it, you no longer have to press the brake peddle to shift out of P. Its the black rod just above the shift cable, with the double bend in it.

Yep that's the one. Glad to know it's nothing too important

I took mine off when I did my bucket seat, and floor console swap, with a custom chevelle floor shifter. I used the OE shifter cable from the column. Just relocated it the the floor shifter I built.
